What vintage guitar (in any) inspires you when you think of owning a lapsteel guitar? What features are important to you? Do you prefer 6, 7, or 8 strings? Why? What scale length do you prefer? Why?
Gibson and Rickenbacker had the primary influence on my Caladesi designed lapsteels. I actually prefer 7 strings but for some reason 6 and 8 are more popular. I have primarily used Seymour Duncan’s Antiquity series 1950’s lapsteel pickup for the 6 string models, and used the Lace Alumitone Bar for 8 strings. I love to customize guitars for player’s preferences so let me know which pickup and wiring you prefer and why.
