What is important to you when considering a single neck console? What scale length and string spacing? What vintage instrument has influenced you the most?
The single neck console guitar that had the largest influence on my design is the Fender Deluxe. This guitar was possibly the most popular single neck steel of all time. Unfortunately, it only came in a 22.5 inch scale which may be why it lacked a lot of sustain above the 12th fret. So I make a Fender style Deluxe which incorporates the original shape into a Caladesi design that takes advantage of longer scales, brass nuts and bridges, and a “blend knob” that is not hiding behind the bridge. I do use Stringmaster pickups and wire the guitar the same way which keeps the bridge pickup on all the time and “blends” in the neck pickup. The string spacing at the nut is also a little wider (.344 inches).
